Elizabeth B. JulianoElizabeth B. Juliano is the Chief Executive Officer of Litigation Management, Inc. (LMI), a company she founded in 1984. Since that time, Litigation Management, Inc.’s staff of medical and legal professionals has grown to over 500 members, with over 400 working at corporate headquarters in Cleveland, Ohio. LMI serves defendant corporations, insurers, and their counsel by providing medical information management services for litigation that involves some medical aspect, particularly product liability litigation. LMI has been actively engaged in toxic tort, personal injury, premises liability, and product liability actions, including medical device, pharmaceutical, occupational exposure, toxic waste, nursing home, and tobacco litigation.

Ms. Juliano actively lectures on a variety of topics that impact the management of the medical aspects of litigation. Noteworthy presentations have included the Chemical Manufacturers Association Tort Litigation Group Conference, American Bar Association Products Liability Committee, American Conference Institute Drug and Medical Device Litigation Conference, Corporate Counsel Institute Litigation Management Institute, The American Conference Institute on Cost Management, and National Association of Women Judges Annual Conference.

Ms. Juliano has authored or co-authored numerous articles and book reviews on the application of medical information management principles to litigation. Her writings have been featured in the Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Law Bulletin, Bureau of National Affairs' Product & Safety Liability Reporter, Bureau of National Affairs' Toxics Law Reporter, The Trial Lawyer: Journal of Strategy, Technique & Case Management, National Paralegal Reporter, The Trial Diplomacy Journal, Medical Malpractice Law & Strategy, and Product Liability Law and Strategy. Ms. Juliano publishes The MIM Reporter: The Review of Medical Information Management for Litigation with approximately 5,000 corporate, insurance, and collaborating outside counsel as subscribers.

Ms. Juliano served as the only non-physician member of a NIOSH-sponsored international committee of pathologists commissioned to establish standards for diagnoses associated with silica and fibrous silicate materials. The committee’s research was published as a monograph in The Archives of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, and was presented before the annual meetings of the American Thoracic Society, American College of Chest Physicians, College of American Pathologists, and the Defense Research Institute Seminar on Asbestos Medicine. Ms. Juliano was also appointed Special Master in three different class action lawsuits involving allegations of fraudulent medical billing..

The professional business community has honored both Ms. Juliano and Litigation Management, Inc. The National Association of Women Business Owners recognized Ms. Juliano in 1997 as one of the “Top Ten Business Owners in Northeast Ohio.” Also in 1997, Ms. Juliano was selected by Crain’s Cleveland Business as one of their “Women of Influence.” In 1995, The National Association of Women Business Owners sponsored the nomination of Ms. Juliano for the Northeast Ohio Entrepreneur of the Year Award. The Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University, named Litigation Management, Inc. as a Weatherhead 100, Outstanding Growth Company. Ms Juliano is also a member of the 2006 class of Rainmakers, an award sponsored by Northern Ohio Live Magazine. Ms. Juliano is the 2007 Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award Winner for the Northeast Ohio Region in the Services category and a National Award Finalist. In 2008, Ms. Juliano was awarded the designation "Woman of Note" by Crain's Cleveland Business.

An active participant in both professional and civic organizations, Ms. Juliano devotes considerable attention to philanthropic and public service. Ms. Juliano is a member of the Defense Research Institute, Food and Drug Law Institute, and American Bar Association. Currently, Ms. Juliano is President of the Fieldstone Farm Therapeutic Riding Center Board of Trustees, Vice Chair of the Hiram College Board of Trustees, serves on the Executive Committee of the Western Reserve Land Conservancy and the Greater Cleveland Partnership Board of Trustees. She is also on the advisory board for the Das Deutsch Center for Special Needs Children, WKSU 89.7, as well as several animal welfare organizations, and is a past member of the Board of Trustees for the Cuyahoga National Park Association. Ms. Juliano is also a Trustee member of the Northern Ohio Italian American Association.
